Singer Island Rotary Club
The Singer Island Rotary Club meeting is called to order at 12:15 PM each Friday and is adjourned at 1:30PM. The meeting includes a Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, recitation of the Rotary Four Way Test, a song, announcements, and lunch.
The featured speaker would typically begin his or her program at 1:10PM and have about 15 minutes; ending just before the final bell. The club can arrange for a projector and screen to be available with advance notice; and handouts are always welcome.
In season (Jan - Mar) attendance reaches 40 members and guests; while in the summer there are often ten or fewer. About a third of the club are women, and our average age is 60+.
Rotary is non-political and non-religious, so those subjects are not appropriate for a presentation. It is also not appropriate to make a "sales pitch" for a product or service. The most popular presentations are those that inform our audience in an interesting way about a subject that is current and relevant.
Meeting slots between January and March fill up rapidly, so it is suggested that you contact the President Elect as early as possible to arrange a date. You may also choose to address the smaller group off-season, with the idea that you may make another presentation if your subject is well received.
